ADVOCATE RESPECT: This club promotes respect for oneself, other and the environment. Meetings are held every other Friday in room 162 during lunch.
AMERICAN RED CROSS: This club gathers all students who are interested in helping out with the American Red Cross, which includes, but is not limited to, disaster relief, disaster preparedness, youth services, measles and malaria initiative, blood services, and community awareness. Meetings are held every other Friday in room 112 during Lunch.
ARABIC CLUB: The Arabic club brings the Arabic culture to the school and increases awareness. Meetings are held every Friday in room 115 during lunch.
BEST BUDDIES: The purpose of this organization is to promote one-on-one friendship between students with and without disabilities. Meetings are held every Friday in Portable 1 during lunch.
BIOLOGEES CLUB: The purpose of the club is to allow students to perform experiments for their own edification. This club is filled with passionate students who wish to explore the depths of Biology. Meetings are held every Wednesdays during lunch in Mr. Wang's Room 143.
BRIDGE THE DIGITAL DIVIDE: Bridge the Digital Divide provides underprivileged students with refurbished second hand laptops donated by the community. Meetings are held every Monday in room 112 during lunch.
CALIFORNIASCHOLARSHIP FEDERATION: The purpose of this club is to foster high standards of scholarship, service, and citizenship on the part of students of Mills. Meetings are held on selected Thursdays in Ms. Alberta’s room.
CHESS: Chess teaches you important skills, concentration and abstract thinking. It may even improve your school grades! Meetings are held every Wednesday in room 156 during lunch.
CHINESE CULTURAL CLUB: The purpose of the Chinese Cultural Club is to encourage and support activities related to the Chinese culture. This club encourages all interested students to join for the enjoyment in meeting new students who are interested in cultural activities associated with the Chinese culture. Meetings are held on Thursdays in room 132 or 133 during lunch.
COLLEGE BOUND: A club that increases interest in going to college and provides information about degree programs, majors, and colleges to all interested students. This club raises money for students who are unable to visit college campuses. Meetings are held every Tuesday in room 131 during lunch.
COREAN PERCUSSION PERFORMERS: This purpose of this club is to introduce the culture of Korea and the beauty of Korean Percussion to Korean Americans and the community. Meetings are held every Monday at 3:30PM in room 221.
DRAGON TEAM: The Dragon Team performs in fall, winter, and spring events and takes part in two major parades. Performing teams like the Dragon Team are selected on a yearly basis to perform in the Millbrae Lunar New Year and San Francisco Chamber of Commerce Lunar New Year Parade. Meetings are held Thursdays during lunch in room 132.
DREAM TEAM: A club that promotes the Sojourn to the Past trip and does a variety of fundraising activities to help the students who cannot afford to attend. Meetings are held every Thursday in room 131 during lunch.
ENVIRONMENT CLUB: The purpose of this organization is to help students understand the causes and consequences of many kinds of pollutions and prevent them from happening. The club will also provide opportunities for students to develop the environment of the community. Meetings are held every Friday in room 243 during lunch.
FHA-HERO: The goal of this club is to provide students with additional learning experiences which can provide opportunities for career exploration and skill development in home related fields. Meetings are bi-monthly on Wednesday during lunch in room 214.
FIJIAN INDIAN CULTURAL CLUB: The purpose of this club is to let students at Mills High School share their cultural experiences with other students. This club also allows students and faculty of difference races to get to know one another through participating in special events that involve this club. Meetings are held every Monday in room 136 during lunch.
FILIPINO AMERICAN ALLIANCE (FAA): The purpose of FAA is to enhance the understanding and appreciation of Filipino Culture and the culture of Filipino Americans. Meetings are held the 1stand 3rdWednesdays of the month in room 165 at lunch.
FILM CLUB: The Film Club helps young filmmakers at Mills make movies by providing equipment and crew members for filming, discussing classic films and filmmaking techniques, and lastly watching and appreciating film in all forms. Meetings are held every Thursday in room 146 during lunch.
FORENSICS TEAM: The purpose of this organization is having debates and speeches on various issues among the members of the club. The club will promote proper manners, etiquette, and character. Meetings are held every Tuesday in room 134 during lunch.
G.A.T.E: The purpose of GATE club is to enhance and nurture each member’s talents and merits, promote the leadership amongst the, and encourage them to use their talents for the betterment of society. Meetings are held every other Wednesday in room 122 during lunch.
INDOOR SOCCER CLUB (ISC): This club is created for students of Mills High who enjoy playing soccer or are interested in playing soccer. Meetings are in the East Gym Monday to Friday.
INTERACT CLUB: Interact’s goal includes serving the community and promoting international understanding. As an individual club, their additional purposes include the promotion of positive student relations and leadership skills. Meetings are held every Monday in room 243 during lunch.
INTERNATIONAL HOUSE OF FRIENDS (IHOF): The purpose of the club is to help new students who transfer from other schools or countries to adapt to their new life. Meetings are every Wednesday in room 112 during lunch.
JAPANESE CULTURAL CLUB: JCC is dedicated in bringing a fun and educational environment where students can learn about the Japanese culture through interconnecting with students in Japan, getting involved in Japanese festivals, and much more. Meetings are held every other Thursday in room 114.
JAPANESE HONOR SOCIETY: JNHS are dedicated in bringing a fun and educational environment where students can learn about the Japanese culture through interconnecting with students in Japan, getting involved in Japanese festivals, and much more activities. Meetings are held every other Thursday in room 114 during lunch.
KARAOKE CLUB: Its main purpose is to encourage self confidence by having people sing and meet new people. Meetings take place every Monday and Thursday room 163.
KEY CLUB: This club coordinates students to do community service projects in their own community and communities near them in order to promote the name of the Key Club. Meetings are held every other Friday in room 252 during lunch.
KOREAN CULTURAL CLUB: This club will serve as a bridge for Korean students at Mills to connect with fellow Koreans, as well as to promote Korean culture to non-Korean students through food faires and club meetings. Meetings are held every other Tuesday in Mrs. Soda’s room during lunch.
LATINA MENTOR PROGRAM:
Mills High School Latina Mentor Program was established in 1992 and designed for Hispanic female students. Each girl has a mentor that guides them throughout their high school career. Mills High School is the only high school with this program in San Mateo Unified High School District and has earned recognition throughout San Mateo County.
We provide enriching activities throughout the year including field trips, guest speakers and crafts. The girls in our program are given the opportunity to step up and take leadership roles within our program. A selected few receive scholarships upon their graduation. We are also known for our dance program which includes Ballet Folklorico, Salsa and Aztec which is done during our Spring semester. Our dance girls perform at the Mills High International Assembly and Talent Show. They also perform for our community and local retirement homes. We fundraise throughout the school year by doing carwashes, food faire (Sponsored by El Super Burrito) and candy sales (Sponsored by See’s Candy).
The Latina Mentor Program shares pride in our Latin heritage with each other. Whether your family heritage is Mexican, Central American, South American or someone that enjoys Latin culture, come and join our program and celebrate with us. Meetings are held every Monday at lunch in room 155.
MATH CLUB: The math club picks students who excel and show a great predisposition to math, organizing them into a team to compete with likeminded students from other schools in various competitions. Meetings are held every Monday in room 155 during lunch.
MILLS GOLF CLUB (BOYS): Mills Golf Club fundraises for the Boys Gold team while promoting and practicing diligently the sport of golf. Meetings are held periodically after school to keep everyone informed and to plan events.
MOCK TRIAL: Mock trial helps students participate in the Constitutional Right’s Foundation’s California Mock Trial Competition. This club also trains, prepares, and works as a team to do so. Meetings are held Wednesdays and Fridays after school in room 146. (Students must try-out before joining the team.)
MODEL UNITED NATIONS: The purpose of Model UN is to provide students with the opportunity and experience of representing a given nation modeling its current political, economic, and social positions on issues placed before it in the Model United Nations General Assembly. Meetings are held every Monday or Thursday in room 133 during lunch.
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY: The purpose of this organization is to create enthusiasm for scholarships, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in the students of secondary schools. Meetings are held on every first and third Friday of every month in room 123 during Lunch.
PEOPLE’S OUTREACH: This club creates, designs, and completes projects in order to beautify Mills High School. They also make the goal of each project to encourage student involvement, ownership, and pride in the school. Meetings are held every Friday in room 213 during lunch.
PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB: The photography club aims to connect students through common interests in film and digital photography. Meetings are held every other Monday in Portable 8 during lunch.
PHYSICS CLUB: The goal of this club is to bring students who are interested in the physical sciences and to provide activities related to physics. Meets are held every other Thursday in Mr. Yung’s room during lunch.
PINGPONG CLUB: The purpose of the Ping Pong Club is to create a friendly atmosphere to play ping pong and meet new people in the process. Having fun is the main focus of the club, and ping pong matches unite people of all backgrounds and allow the sport to be enjoyed by all. Meetings take place one or two days at discretion to advisor, Mr. Yung. For more information on club meetings please speak to the advisor.
REINCARNATION: Reincarnation Club is dedicated in building a safe and educational environment for youth to gain cultural awareness through the Performing Arts. Meetings are held on Saturdays at 2 pm at the Reincarnation Performance Group dance center.
SAVING OUR WORLD: This club gathers all students who are interested in doing good deeds for our school, environment, and planet. This club is a re-charter of the Earth club and will also carry out any other past responsibilities of the Earth club. Meetings are held every other Wednesday in room 223.
SOUL STYLES: The goal of Soul Styles is to teach, practice, gain friendship, and have fun though dancing. Meetings are held Monday and Wednesday in the mat room after school.
SPECTRUM: Spectrum provides students with a safe space for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and straight allied students to express themselves freely without judgment. They also educate the student body about issues relating to sexual orientation and gender identity. Meetings are held every Thursday at lunch in selected rooms, (please speak to Mrs. Rustia for more information)
STUDENTS ORGANIZING AGAINST PREJUDICE (SOAP): The purpose of SOAP is to spread and promote tolerance for all students without reference to race, religion, and gender of any other classification; to speak out against any intolerance and promote the principles of nonviolence. Meetings are held on Mondays during lunch in room 232.
TRIVIA TEAM: The purpose is to have fun while competing in Trivia games! Meetings are held on Tuesdays and Fridays in Mr. Stallings room during lunch.
ULTIMATE FRISBEE ORGANIZATION: The goal of UFO is to spread the sport of Ultimate Frisbee, teaching beginners, amateurs, and experiences player alike the fundamentals and rules of the game. Meetings are held once a month in Zizmor’s room, 221, Wednesday at lunch for planning and discussion. (Additional meetings are held every Wednesday on the field after school for actual scrimmage.)
WHITE LILY: White Lily helps students learn and raise awareness of the physical and mental health issues of teenage girls. Their goal is to input the knowledge and importance of health issues concerning girls to the public. Meetings are held Thursdays during lunch or after school in the gym.
WORDS OF WISDOM: Words of wisdom is a student group at Mills that provides a fellowship time for both Christian and non-Christian students to have a better understanding of Christianity. Meetings are held every Wednesday in the choir room during lunch.
